Is AHIP Required?

Yes. The CBC Producer Training Portal will direct agents to the AHIP training, where agents should select Capital as an offering. There is a direct link back to the CBC Training Portal. Instructions can be found within the portal.

Is Face-to-Face Training Required?

No. A face-to-face meeting is not required, though it is suggested that producers attend either a face-to-face meeting or webinar.

How Do I Retrieve My Username and Password?

If you forget your username or password, there is a “Yes, help me log in” link to assist you.

How Do Agents Receive Their Login Credentials or Will They Register as New Users?

Once contracting has been submitted, CBC will review it and send the certification link directly to the agent. After one business day, agents will be able to log in using their NPN.

Who Do I Contact at Carrier to Confirm Certification?

You will receive a certificate of completion. Alternatively, you can call Broker Support at 888-549-9452.

Note: Agents must be certified (completed the online training) and appointed (completed the contracting paperwork) to sell CBC MAPD.

How to Properly Fill Out SeniorBlue HMO and PPO Applications:

  • Indicate the date that you received the application
  • Write your name at “Agent Name”
  • Leave “Plan ID #” blank
  • Leave “Effective Date of Coverage” blank for AEP unless a different effective date is requested. No applications with a 2015 effective date will be accepted.
  • Leave “ICEP/IEP” blank
  • Input your National Producer Number (NPN) at “NIPR”

Medicare Supplement

How to Properly Fill Out SecureBlue Applications:

  • View the key requirements and tips for completing the SecureBlue application
  • Use only blue or black ink and print legibly.
  • Complete the following fields in Sections 1 and 2:
    • Desired effective date
    • Plan type
    • Demographic information
      • For “County of Residence,” put the county where the applicant resides
    • All Medicare information
      • Effective dates
      • Medical health Insurance Claim Number (HIC #)
  • Make sure all underwriting questions are answered if the applicant is required to answer them.
    • Sign Section 2b only if the applicant is required to answer the underwriting questions.
    • If the applicant is unsure how to answer a question, please direct them to go to his/her physician.
    • Do not direct the applicant on how to answer a question.
  • Follow these directions for Sections 7 and 8:
    • If the applicant has Medicare Advantage (MA) coverage, input the dates and information in Section 7 and complete the questions in Section 8.
    • If the applicant currently has a different Medicare Supplement (Med Supp) policy, make sure the following questions are completed in Section 8:
      • “Do you have another Medicare supplement policy in force?”
      • “If so, with what company and what plan do you have?”
      • “If so, do you intend to replace your current Medicare supplement policy with this policy?”
    • If the applicant is replacing group coverage, do not fill out Section 7.
    • If the applicant has coverage other than MA or Med Supp (group or individual non-Medicare), make sure the following questions are completed in Section 8:
      • “Have you had coverage under any other health insurance within the past 63 days?”
      • “If so, with what company and what kind of policy?”
      • “What are your dates of coverage under the policy?”
  • Complete the following fields in Section 10:
    • “Name of Issuer, Producer, or Other Representative”
    • “Address of Issuer, Producer, or Other Representative”
    • “Producer ID” (For Producer ID, put your National Producer Number. Do NOT provide your BRK Number.)
    • “Signature of Producer or Other Representative”
  • Complete Section 11 only if the applicant needs to cancel current Capital Advantage Insurance Company (CAIC) Med Supp coverage.
  • Check off a reason the applicant is replacing a Med Supp or MA plan in the Replacement Notice section (if applicable)
  • Make sure both you and the applicant complete and sign the application.

Commissions

General Information:

  • Here are some highlights on commission payments (not a complete list of terms):
    • You must be “in good standing” with Capital BlueCross in order to receive commissions and renewals.
    • Ritter pays commission via Direct Deposit every Friday (with exceptions for holidays) for Capital BlueCross. Commissions are generally credited to your bank account 24–48 hours later.
    • In order to process commission payment, we require a W-9 and an ACH form.
